In the same vein, the former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter, Kamran Akmal, shared his insights on the team and pointed out star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya as the key player for India in the Champions Trophy mentioning his ability with both bat and ball and how he can finish games for his team.

“The main player in the Indian team, without him the playing XI is incomplete is Hardik Pandya. He is my favorite, he is remarkable with the bat and the ball. He finishes the game as well,” Kamran said on his YouTube Channel.

Speaking of Hardik Pandya, the experienced all-rounder has a decent record in One Day Internationals (ODIs), where he has played 86 matches for the Indian team so far. In these matches, the prolific big-hitter has scored 1,769 runs in the 61 innings, with an average of 34.01. During this journey, Pandya maintained a strike rate of 110.35. He has 11 half-centuries to his name as well with the highest score of 92 which he scored against Australia.

 With the ball, he has taken 84 wickets at an average of 35.23 and an economy of 5.55.  His best figures came against England at Manchester where he took 4/24 in seven overs and also played a great hand of 71 off 55 deliveries during the match as well.
