Young buoyant Tiger-Kiwi sides to face off each other

In international cricket, the New Zealand cricket team is now touring Bangladesh for a five-match T20I series. The matches on this tour are set to begin from tomorrow with the first T20I match to be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium (Dhaka) in Mirpur on September 1. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th T20I matches of the series will be played on September 3, 5, 8, and 10 respectively at the same venue.

Since 2010, New Zealand and Bangladesh have faced each other in a total of 10 T20I matches and New Zealand has won all the matches. The last time the two teams met was in the T20I series in New Zealand in March 2021.  The Tigers got whitewashed by the Black Caps in that three-match series.

Earlier, New Zealand played a five-match T20I series against visiting Australia, where the Kiwis won the series 3-2 against the Aussies. Bangladesh, on the other hand, played their last five-match T20I series against visiting Australia, where the Tigers won the series 4-1.

Out of the last five T20I series, Bangladesh has won 3 of them, New Zealand has won 4 of the last five T20I series. However, since the experienced players of the team are not available for this series, both teams have arranged the squad with young dependent players. So before the T20 World Cup 2021 with the young players, a series full of competition is expected.

Despite New Zealand being ahead in terms of statistics, due to the success of the latest T20I series at home and abroad, the players of the Bangladesh team have become strong with confidence. In addition to that, this time the Tigers are going to play on home soil. They will do their best to win their first T20I match against the Kiwis and keep the series memorable.

Note that in the ICC T20I rankings, New Zealand is ranked at 3rd and Bangladesh is placed at the 10th position. So the Tigers have to work hard in this series to build a solid position in the points table.
