Windies looking to turn around in the Test; Pakistan optimistic to continue their Test streak

In international cricket, The Pakistan cricket team is now touring the West Indies for a T20I and Test bilateral series. The visitors won 1-0 in the four-match T20I series, in which 3 of the matches were abandoned due to rain. The 2-match Test series between the two teams is set to take place at Sabina Park (Jamaica) in Kingston. The first match will be played from August 12 and the last match will be played from August 20.

The West Indies and Pakistan have met in a total of 52 Tests since 1957, where Pakistan has won 20 and West Indies has won 17 matches of them, and 15 matches have been drawn. The two teams last met in April 2017 in a Test series in the West Indies. The visitors won the three-match series 2-1 against the Caribbeans.

Pakistan last played a two-match Test series against hosts Zimbabwe, where the visitors whitewashed Zimbabwe. While the West Indies were whitewashed in their last two-Test series against visiting South Africa.

The Caribbeans have won just one of the last five-Test series. Pakistan, on the other hand, has won three of the last five-Test series, the team has won the last two series in a row.

So statistically and with the success of winning the Test series at home and abroad, the players of the Pakistan team are now confident. So they will try their best to keep going and make the results in their favor.

Pakistan is ranked 5th and West Indies is ranked 7th in the ICC Test rankings. So the Caribbeans have to work hard in this series to build a solid position in the points table.
