Injury has become a threat for Bangladesh national cricket team. One after another, the injuries of the cricketers have caused concern in the foreheads of the board officials. Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam, the two main pacers of the team, have been injured since the ODI series against South Africa. On the other hand, all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz got injured after returning home to play Dhaka Premier League (DPL). Off-spinner Nayeem Hasan injured his finger on the fourth day of the first Test against the Lankans.

Meanwhile, the Tigers have left the country in two stages to play the full series of West Indies. All-rounder Miraz and pacer Taskin are returning to the game in this series. Regarding them, BCB doctor Debashish Chowdhury said, ”Miraz is in the final stage of rehabilitation of finger injuries. He has done physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and skill training under the supervision of our physios. We are confident that from the very beginning Miraz will be able to participate fully in the practice with the team. ”

Debashish added: “Taskin is in the second phase of rehabilitation. Now he is able to bowl at 70-80 intensity in the full run-up and this is how his fitness will continue to grow. Hopefully, he has no problem playing in the short version in West Indies.”

Fast bowler Shoriful Islam and spinner Nayeem Hasan left the field with injuries in the first Test against Sri Lanka. Debashish said that they will be able to return to Bangladesh Tigers camp next week. Debashish said, “21 days will be completed after his (Shoriful) fracture on 8th or 9th, then his plaster will be opened. Then we will add Shoriful and Nayeem to the Tigers’ camp where their physiotherapy, rehab, and skill training will run together. Since Shoriful’s injury is in non-bowling hand, I hope there will be no problem in his bowling.

The injury to Nayeem’s middle finger will be completed in 21 days on 8-9. Although there are no restrictions on fitness training right now, we are waiting a bit for skill training. I hope to be able to add Shoriful and Nayeem to the Tigers ‘camp on 10-11 for their rehab and fitness.”
