Warner worried about the future of Test cricket

টেস্ট ক্রিকেটের ভবিষ্যৎ নিয়ে চিন্তিত ওয়ার্নার

More profit in a short time, this is the way the current cricket is moving forward. Franchise based T20 leagues are ruling the world. Where there is the jingle of big sums of money. In these four-six leagues, the crowd support is also quite impressive. That’s why young cricketers are turning to these leagues to get more money and popularity in a short period of time. So, Australian opener David Warner is worried about Test cricket. Recently in an interview, he showed  his concern about Test cricket.

About the disinterest of young cricketers towards Test cricket, Warner recently highlighted an incident. 22-year-old batsman Oliver Davies is playing in Australia’s franchise-based Twenty20 League, Big Bash. Warner wants to make him understand the importance of Test cricket. But Warner did not see any interest in the longer version. And that’s why the star is worried about the future.

In this regard, Warner said, “I spoke to Davis during the Big Bash. As far as I understand from talking to him, he is interested in playing white-ball cricket. In that case, he may not be seen in red-ball cricket. But I think, if he is focused, he can do well in the test as well. There are many young cricketers like him now, who are more interested in the T20 league. T20 may be time demanding but it does not reveal a cricketer completely. “

About the future of Test cricket, Warner also said, “The current dominance of T20 leagues, it seems that Test cricket will fall into crisis in the near future. I am worried about the level of Test cricket in the next ten years. I would like the youth to take up Test cricket. Let’s get interested. If you can prove yourself at your best in Test cricket, you can be remembered in cricket. However the T20 era goes, the real cricket is Test cricket. This is where a cricketer can show his true self.”

However, the number of cricketers who have built a long career without playing Test cricket is also not less. Australia itself has a white ball stars like Chris Lynn, Marcus Stoinis. But it is very difficult to succeed evenly across all three formats, and with the amount of cricket being played today, the cricketers are getting tired of the extra cricket pressure. Even then, those who succeeded in handling the pressure are the legends of cricket. Warner is also one of them, who is a successful batsman in all three formats.
