Wahab Riaz got the news of becoming Pakistan’s minister after coming to play BPL

Pakistan’s Wahab Riaz is playing for Khulna Tigers in the current season of BPL. Pakistan’s experienced left-arm pacer is now busy playing. This time the good news came for him in the middle of the BPL game. He has been chosen as the Sports Minister of Punjab, Pakistan. However, Wahab could not take the oath as he was in Bangladesh to play BPL.

According to Pakistani media reports, Wahab has been appointed to the Cabinet of Provincial Governments of Pakistan. Pakistan’s one-time indispensable pacer has been named Sports Minister in the caretaker government in Punjab province.

The oath was administered last Thursday at Governor Baligh ur Rehman’s residence in Lahore. But Wahab could not take the oath as he was in Bangladesh due to the BPL game. However, this experienced pacer of Pakistan said that he will accept the responsibility of the sports minister at the appropriate time.

Apart from Wahab, Khulna Tigers have more Pakistani cricketers in the BPL. Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan is also playing for Khulna. Azam Khan tweeted about Wahab becoming Sports Minister. He wrote, “Having a fun time with the Sports Minister of Punjab,” along with the hashtag, ‘Busy man. Meanwhile, after becoming a minister, this pacer is being showered with wishes. Many cricketers of the Pakistan team congratulated him.

According to Pakistani media reports, 11 others including Wahab have been given responsibility in this phase. Among them are Bilal Afzal, SM Tanveer, Dr Javed Akram, Ibrahim Murad, Dr Jamal Nasir, Mansoor Qadir, Syed Afzal Ali Nasir, and Amir Mir. They all took the oath. Wahab, Tamkinat Karim and Naseem Safiq could not take the oath as they could not be present at the ceremony. However, he said he would take the oath after returning to Pakistan.

Wahab has played 156 matches in the Pakistan jersey. He has taken 237 wickets with the ball. This pacer, who has crossed 37, last played international cricket in 2020. It should be noted that Wahab is showing surprise in the current season of BPL as well. He has taken 12 wickets at an average of 12.25 and a rate of 6.63 in 6 matches. And this is the highest score so far in this tournament. Let’s see how after handling the responsibility of 22 yards of the field, how he handles the new responsibility as a minister.
