Trinbago Knight Riders and Barbados Royals met yesterday in the 16th match of CPL 2022 at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. Batting first, Trinbago Knight Riders made a small target. But the Barbados Royals easily reached the target before the allotted 20 overs were over. As a result, Trinbago Knight Riders had to leave the field with a loss. At the end of this match, Trinbago Knight Riders are at the bottom of the points table and Barbados Royals are at the top of the points table after winning the match. Along with that, Kyle Myers won the player of the match title by batting brilliantly for the Barbados Royals.

Barbados Royals won the toss, elected to bowl first, and invited Trinbago Knight Riders to bat. Trinbago Knight Riders did not get off to a good start. They lost 4 wickets for the team’s 37 runs. Tion Webster was the first to lead the way with 11 runs off 11 balls, along with 2 fours. Shortly after, Colin Munro left the field with 1 run from 4 balls. In the 5th over, Tim Seifert left the field after hitting a golden duck. Skipper Kieron Pollard was trapped by LBW and left the field. He scored 6 runs off 8 balls.

Then Nicholas Pooran and Sunil Narine took the team’s total to 107 runs. But in the 16th over, Obed McCoy bowled out Nicholas Pooran. He scored the most runs for them. He scored 52 runs off 43 balls with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Just three balls later, Sunil Narine returned to the dressing room. He scored 30 runs off 31 balls with 2 sixes before getting out. After that, no one could stand. They were only taking wickets at regular intervals. Andre Russell scored 3 runs, Seekkuge Prasanna scored 3 runs, Ravi Rampaul scored 11 runs off 7 balls, Daryn Dupavillon scored 3 runs, and Jayden Seales scored 1 run. In the end, they scored 132 runs losing 10 wickets with 11 runs extra.

Mujeeb ur Rahman took 3 wickets for 17 runs in 4 overs for Barbados Royals, while Obed McCoy, Jason Holder, and Rahkeem Cornwall took 2 wickets each.

The target was 132 runs. In response, Barbados Royals won by losing only 2 wickets with 4 overs in hand. The beginning was not good for the Barbados Royals. All-rounder Rahkeem Cornwall was bowled out by Daryn Dupavillon for just 1 run off 5 balls. Then Corbin Bosch and Kyle Myers combined to bring the Barbados Royals close to victory. But Kyle Myers was caught out by Daryn Dupavillon after the team scored 108 runs. He played the brilliant innings of 79 runs off 36 balls before getting out. His innings of 79 runs had 10 fours and 5 sixes. In the end, Corbin Bosch and Quinton de Kock left the field with the victory. Corbin Bosch was unbeaten on 33 runs from 43 balls and Quinton de Kock was unbeaten on 12 runs from 12 balls.
