The rivalry took an interesting turn when Australia defeated England for the first time in their own backyard in 1882, which gave birth to the Ashes. Since then both teams lock horns against each other for that small Ashes Urn.

Australia and England were also featured in the 1987 World Cup final in Kolkata where the Aussies won the close encounter by 7 runs to clinch the title for the very first time. 23 years later, England took their revenge after defeating Australia in the 2009 20-20 World Cup final by 7 wickets.

India has been undefeated against Pakistan in the ODI World Cup winning seven out of seven matches. While Pakistan ended the jinx against India in 2021 20-20 World Cup winning by 10 wickets. The Shaheens were also on a verge of another famous win against the Men in Blue in 2022 at MCG, but India pulled off a memorable victory as Virat Kohli played one of the best innings of his life.
