In an interview given to a website, Papon claimed that Shakib-Tamim do not talk outside the field. Even talking to Shakib-Tamim to resolve the issue but failed, the BCB president said. But this time he said that he did not know anything about the relationship between Shakib and Tamim. Papon held a meeting with the players on Monday. While talking to the media, he talked about Shakib-Tamim. Papon said, “I don’t know what the problem is between them (Shakib and Tamim). If I knew the problem, I would have tried to solve it. I have spoken to both of them. They have assured me that these things will not affect the game on the field.”

Blaming the media, referring to Shakib-Tamim, Papon added, “They (Shakib and Tamim) have been playing together in the national team for a long time. I have never seen this before. If there was any such problem between them, I would have come forward to resolve it. But the young cricketers feel shy to talk to Shakib -Tamim separately. I have heard the issue from the media.”
