After the West Indies tour, Virat Kohli also rested on the Zimbabwe tour. The former Indian captain has been out of form for a long time. All around now the news about Kohli means criticism. Various questions have been raised about going to rest again and again. This time, India’s star opener Shikhar Dhawan opened up about Kohli’s rest.

Dhawan led the Indian team in the ODI series against the West Indies. The responsibility of leadership in the tour of Zimbabwe is also on his shoulders. After a long break, Dhawan is playing a major role in the national team. Meanwhile, by supporting Kohli, he also fueled the debate on extra cricket.

Dhawan said, “There is nothing new to say about the kind of cricketer Kohli is. It is true that he is going through bad times, but all his achievements are an example for him. Bad times come in the life of every cricketer. They will go. Kohli will come back stronger.”

Dhawan also said, “A cricketer needs to be fresh to perform at his best. Due to continuous games, mental fatigue increases. The brain also needs rest. That’s why now cricketers are rotated. This method is for adequate rest. If a cricketer plays everywhere, he will get tired. Cricketers are also human beings. . I think, those concerned will understand this.”

Like Kohli, Rohit Sharma has been rested for some matches by the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) after the Indian Premier League (IPL). Dhawan sees nothing wrong with that. Ahead of the T20 World Cup, he is advocating rest for the players to reduce fatigue and perform with 100 percent mental strength.
