The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has informed that the United States cricket team is coming to Bangladesh at the beginning of March. They will play a three-match ODI series on the tour. Bangladesh national team cricketers will not play in this series. Bangladesh ‘A’ team will face USA. Because Tamim Iqbal will be busy playing the series against England.
Meanwhile, as there are two international series at the same time, BCB has to make some calculations about the venue. Bangladesh will play against England at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka and Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. As a result, BCB has chosen Sylhet International Cricket Stadium as the venue for the three ODIs against USA. Since there is no game at this time.
However, the England team was also scheduled to play in Sylhet. The English were supposed to play two warm-up matches against the hosts. But that decision changed at the last moment. The England Cricket Board (ECB) has informed that they will not play any preparatory matches in the tour of Bangladesh. As a result, after the BPL game, Sylhet has to be content with hosting USA. Visitors to the city will also get a taste of international matches.
Before this, the last international match was held in Sylhet in 2020. Tamim Iqbal’s team played against Zimbabwe . Although almost three years have passed, the venue has not received any international matches. The wait is finally coming to an end in March. The Ireland team will come to Bangladesh after the USA. All three ODI matches of that series will be held at Sylhet ground.
