Nurul Hasan Sohan injured his finger in the second match of the T20 series against Zimbabwe. He underwent successful surgery on that finger on Monday. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief doctor Debashish Chowdhury confirmed the matter.
Earlier, Sohan was sent to Singapore to monitor the depth of the injury. He showed Jonathan Go, a surgeon at a hospital there. Jonathan specializes in treating hand injuries. After seeing Sohan’s injured hand, the doctor decided to undergo surgery.
Debashish went with Sohan in Singapore. This BCB doctor is taking care of this wicketkeeper’s treatment. Meanwhile, the Asia Cup is going to start in the United Arab Emirates from August 27. Whereas Bangladesh’s first match is on August 30, against Afghanistan. So Sohan is uncertain in the tournament.
Considering the condition of Sohan’s injury, the BCB Cricket Management Committee believes that he will not be available for the upcoming Asia Cup. A reliable source of BCB told the media that Sohan is unable to play in the Asia Cup. The team will be announced excluding him.
