Siddons does not want to reform senior cricketers

James Darren Siddons is an Australian cricketer, renowned for his involvement in Sheffield Shield first-class cricket over a 16-year career.

From 2007 to 2011, Jamie Siddons was the head coach of the Bangladesh national team during the rise of Shakib-Tamim-Mushfiqur. After a long time, the responsibility of the Tigers fell on Siddons again. But this time only as a batting consultant or batting coach. Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, and Mushfiqur Rahim are the senior campaigners of the national team today. This time Siddons expressed his opinion about these disciples whom he had known for a long time.

At the end of their careers, the Australian coach is focusing on ensuring that the performance of these senior cricketers does not go down. The senior campaigners of the team should spend the last time of their desired career in their best form. On the third day of the Dhaka Test, Siddons told TV broadcasters, “My job for the senior players is to make their way easier. The last 3-4 years of their career must be spent in the best form. The graph should not be downward. As senior players, they need to work on minor issues. We are working on them. ”

The pacing unit of Bangladesh was not in great form. However, at present, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Mustafizur Rahman are leading the team from the front. Siddons, who rejoined the Tigers’ coaching panel after a long decade, thinks the Bangladesh national cricket team has made great strides in the pace bowling unit. “I think the biggest change has come from the pace bowlers,” Siddons said. “Bangladesh now has some great pacers. This will make Bangladesh a stronger team, ” he added.

Mushfiqur, known as Mr Dependable, one of the pillars of the batting order of the Tigers, is in a good mood against Sri Lanka. However, this batsman had a difficult time before the ongoing series. Telling the story behind Mushfiqur’s return, Siddons said, “We are lucky to have got a good batting wicket in Chattogram. Mushfiqur is an excellent player. He doesn’t take much to turn it around. We’ve made some minor changes to his preparation, and done some work with his feet, which seemed enough. In Chattogram, he found his own way and batted well. I think the century of this match is one of his best innings.”
