This Zimbabwe tour seems to have given Team India’s promising cricketer Shubman Gill a lot.
Shubman Gill’s wait is finally over. This Under-19 World Cup-winning cricketer scored his first century in international cricket. And with this century, the name of this star cricketer got into the record book. The first century broke the records of Sachin and Rohit Sharma.
So far, Sachin Tendulkar was the owner of the highest individual innings among Indians against Zimbabwe. Sachin scored 127 on September 26, 1998, in Bulawayo.
However, Shubman played a total of 130 runs off 97 balls with 15 fours and 1 six in Harare on Monday, breaking the record of the cricket legend. And Sachin’s long record of 24 years was broken.
On the other hand, Rohit Sharma was the youngest player to score a century in Zimbabwe.
The Indian captain scored a century at the age of 23. But this time, at 22, he overtook Rohit too by scoring a century.
In 2019, Shubman made his international career debut with a one-day match against New Zealand.
So far, his personal 98 runs against the West Indies were his highest innings. This time Shubman surpassed himself.
After the century, a video of Shubman has gone viral on social media. It can be seen there that the young cricketer celebrated the century by dancing and singing with his teammates.
