Shakib will play for Guyana in the West Indies Premier League

The Bangladesh team returned home after the failed Asia Cup mission. The cricketers have been given a week’s rest. After that, the training camp will start on September 12 under the new technical consultant Sridharan Sriram.

The real purpose of this special camp is to prepare the Tigers for the tri-nation series and T20 World Cup in New Zealand. However, captain Shakib Al Hasan will not join that camp.

Meanwhile, Shakib will be busy playing in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). He is scheduled to join the team in New Zealand directly after the tournament. However, he will spend time with his family in the US before joining the CPL.

Meanwhile, Shakib will play for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in this year’s CPL. He has already received a no-objection letter from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). In this context, Jalal Yunus, chairman of BCB’s cricket operations committee, said, ”Shakib has been given a no-objection letter long ago. He will join the team in New Zealand after completing the CPL.”

The tri-nation series in New Zealand will start on October 7. As a result, Shakib will get a chance to play in the entire tournament of CPL. It is now to be seen whether Shakib can shine in the CPL though he cannot shine in the Asia Cup in the Bangladesh jersey.

Basically, he will play CPL in preparation for the T20 World Cup. The final CPL will be held on October 1.
