Shakib Al Hasan is a ‘Big name’ in red-green jersey. Under whose leadership, Bangladesh will play the upcoming T20 World Cup on Australian soil. Before that, the world’s best all-rounder is sharpening himself with bat and ball. And the mission is underway in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), a West Indies franchise based Twenty20 tournament.
Shakib joined Guyana Amazon Warriors in CPL after finishing this year’s Asia Cup. However, even though he did not get a chance in the starting eleven, he became a true Warriors as soon as he entered the field in Guyana’s jersey. Bangladeshi stars are equally bright in bat and ball in two consecutive matches. As he brought victory to the team, he also won the man of the match award.
Shakib scored a half-century in aggressive style against the Barbados Royals at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Monday. Chasing the easy target of 126 runs given by the opponent, Shakib played an innings of 53 runs from 30 balls and presented the team victory. He also got the man of the match award as he took one wicket with the ball.
Earlier, Shakib was man of the match against Trinbago Knight Riders. Besides scoring 35 runs off 25 balls in that match, he took 3 wickets with the ball. He gave only 20 runs. Meanwhile, the return of the biggest star of the team in such e way on the eve of a big event like the World Cup is surely a relief for the Bangladesh team.
