Rohit learned from watching Kohli

Rohit-Kohli pair is not less practiced on social media. Rumors of a rift between the two are also frequently heard. Although the two claim that their relationship is great, there is no cold-blooded fight. India recently won the first two Tests against Australia under the leadership of Rohit. However, Rohit feels that the reason for his success as a captain is Virat Kohli. That’s why Rohit gave full credit to his teammate Kohli for winning.

As a captain, Kohli always showed aggression on the field. This former Indian captain understood very well how to put pressure on the opponent. And since then, Rohit started learning by watching Kohli. Which he is using now after becoming the captain.

Rohit said in the press conference, “I used to watch Kohli when I was playing as a ordinary cricketer. I tried to understand everything. I tried to keep an eye on what he was doing. Even if he didn’t get a wicket, Kohli was never disappointed. He would try how to put more pressure on the opponent then. He would push them to make mistakes. I tried to learn them by watching him, trying to master everything.”

Rohit claims that the Indian captain is now using the things he learned from watching Kohli. Rohit also said, “Now I do these things, I don’t get disappointed even if the result of the match is not favorable. I don’t get excited even if don’t get wicket, I try to stay calm. Because it’s true that every ball will never get a wicket. Now wait for that. Try to do that. Try to create more pressure on the opposition. Don’t get excited even if you get quick wickets again. Then you make the team understand that it won’t happen again. So, we have to work harder, make ourselves stronger.”

Australians started criticizing India’s pitch even before Australia’s Test against India started. But with the bat, Rohit has shown how to survive at the crease even on a spin-assisted pitch and score a century. About the wicket, Rohit said, “It was the same condition for both our teams. It’s not that we got an advantage. Our bowlers know how to take wickets. They always put the opposition batsmen under pressure. And staying at the crease with the bat is important. On the field you have to play and utilize that benefit. No one is going to give it to you.”

It should be noted that the India-Australia third Test will be held in Dharamsala from March 1 to 5. The final Test will be held in Ahmedabad from March 9 to 13. Meanwhile, Australia has not seen victory on Indian soil for a long time. Loss by a huge margin in the first two Tests even in this season. It remains to be seen whether Australia can break the cycle of failure.
