Reasons why Afridi asked Umar Akmal to be grateful

যে কারণে উমর আকমলকে কৃতজ্ঞ হতে বললেন আফ্রিদি

Umar Akmal was once an essential member of the Pakistan cricket team. The right-handed wicket-keeper batsman has also represented the national team for a long time. But due to his fitness and bad form, he was dropped from the national team. However, Umar is still a regular face in Pakistan’s domestic league. Shahid Afridi asked him to be grateful to Quetta Gladiators.

Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Quetta. The team has taken Umar for this season of this franchise-based T20 league. However, at the auction’s beginning, no team showed interest in buying him. The reason is apparent. Umar’s poor fitness and poor form, as usual. But despite all the teams turning their backs, Quetta gave this experienced cricketer a chance.

Afridi told Omar to be grateful to Quetta for that. In this context, the former Pakistani all-rounder said, “When all the other PSL teams turned their backs on Umar, Quetta evaluated him properly. As a result, they allowed him to play on the team. So I think he should always be grateful to the Quetta team.”

Afridi also gave some advice to Umar. Apart from working on fitness, the former Pakistan captain suggested improving his batting. Afridi also said, “Umar’s fitness problem is not new. I have been seeing him suffer like this for a long time. I like him a lot as a batsman. But to bat well, he needs to focus on fitness.”

Meanwhile, this season of PSL is going to start on February 13. When Umar enters the field for Quetta, this experienced wicketkeeper-batsman will try to perform well in the new season. Although for now, there is no opportunity to open the national team’s doors for him. The current form of Umar, who has played in the national team for a long time, is not good. But PSL is a terrific stage. Let’s see if Umar can overcome his failure and make PSL a platform to return to the national team.
