Quetta Gladiators sweating in practice to return to victory

জয়ে ফিরতে অনুশীলনে ঘাম ঝরাচ্ছে কোয়েটা গ্লাডিয়েটর্স

In this season of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Quetta Gladiators are not in a very good rhythm. The team started the tournament with a loss. Where the team had the possibility to turn around in the next matches, Quetta could not dominate in the next matches as well. Even though they have played five matches so far, they have won only once. Sarfraz Ahmed’s team can’t get out of the circle of loss. But this time Quetta Gladiators are desperate to return to the winning streak. In practice, everyone is getting serious and sweating.

Quetta has tasted defeat in the last match as well. But then the team got a long break of several days. Their next match is against Lahore Qalandars on March 2. However, the cricketers of Quetta are not sitting during this break. Sarfaraz Ahmed’s team is sweating in hard practice. They are desperate to return to the winning streak. This has also been informed by Quetta.

Quetta made a post on their official Facebook page on Monday. In that post, they published several pictures of the players practicing. All the cricketers including Martin Guptill, Jason Roy and Iftikhar Ahmed were seen busy in practice. The post reads, “Hard practice is underway to change the points table from the next match”. Everyone was seen in a cheerful mood in that practice. Everyone’s eyes are full eagerness of victory.

For Quetta to return to winning ways, all the important cricketers need to be in good rhythm. The bats of the two openers Guptill and Roy are smiling though. Guptill also scored a century in the event. Iftikhar is taking the lead in the middle order. Young pacers Naseem Shah and Mohammad Hasnain are in the bowling department. They are bowling well regularly. However, the one-time champions are not getting the victory.

On the other hand, the criticism of this failure of Quetta is not diminishing. Shahid Afridi, the former cricketer of the team, thinks that it was not right to give the captaincy on the shoulder of Sarfraz. Though the players perform well individually, the team is not winning. In that case, the captain’s sanity may be questioned. But Sarfraz wants to overcome the failure and turn around. What can Quetta do? The answer will be given in time.
