Quetta Gladiators' fifth loss, yet the captain is expected to turn around

In the last two seasons of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the Quetta Gladiators could not qualify for the last four. This time the franchise formed a balanced team. However, the powerful Quetta Gladiators built with domestic and foreign stars lost their way out. The tournament started with a loss. Then Sarfraz Ahmed’s team has to wander in the midst of drawn rates. Yet the team captain is flying with hope.

Quetta faces Islamabad United in their sixth match on Friday night. Sarfaraz bowled before losing the toss at the National Stadium in Karachi. Before batting, the batsmen of Islamabad prove their power. The powerful batting exhibition goes on in Karachi. Islamabad got a large collection of 225 runs at the end of the 20 overs.

Twenty -two runs were a big score but it was not impossible for Quetta Gladiators. Quetta’s batting lineup is strong enough. In the opening, Jason Roy and Martin Guptill are the strong batsmen. But that day their bat could not spread the light. The last farewell to the two openers has instead pushed the team into danger. Sarfraz and Mohammad Hafeez have reduced some of the middle order. However, Quetta Gladiators could not avoid the loss. They lost by 5 runs.

Meanwhile, Sarfraz said he was getting a long time to correct the mistake after the loss. Quetta captain said, “I think we have moved from our plan in the last few overs. This happened under pressure. Losing a wicket quickly in the top order is also one of the reasons. You have 3-5 days before the next match. I’ll talk about the problems. Hopefully, we will return, and we will turn around.

This is the fifth loss of Quetta. They won only in their second match, against Karachi Kings. After losing four matches then, Quetta has already fallen into a difficult equation. It will tell how much it is possible to turn around from there. However, the captain of the team is confident. Who knows whether the break is helpful in turning them around? If the team does not turn around, the team is likely to get out of the tournament.
