Pakistan become champion in the tri-series

Pakistan reached the final of the Asia Cup but could not lift the title in the end. After that, they lost the T20 series against England at home. But this time, Babar Azam’s team has brought home the tri-series title on New Zealand soil. And with that, the Pakistan team regained confidence before the T20 World Cup.

New Zealand batted first after losing the toss at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Friday. However, the Kiwis could not make much use of batting. Two openers departed before playing big innings. Williamson was the only one to score a half-century (59 runs) in the entire innings. They managed to score 163 runs in the end.

Meanwhile, chasing the target of 164 runs, Pakistan stumbled at the beginning. Mohammad Rizwan played an innings of 34 runs but Babar Azam departed with only 15 runs. However, Pakistan returned to the match with Mohammad Nawaz’s and Haider Ali’s cameos in the middle order.

After that, Iftekhar Ahmed gave a good finish. He played an innings of 38 runs off just 22 balls in Pakistan’s victory. He also bagged 1 wicket with the ball. As a result, this all-rounder became the man of the match in the way to win by 5 wickets. Ahead of the World Cup, this series win will act as a confidence booster for Pakistan on Australian soil; cricket experts think so.
