Yesterday, Oval Invincibles, who finished 4th in last year’s point table, face off against last year’s bottom team of the point table London Spirit in the 2nd match of the Hundred 2022. Where London Spirit came down to bat first and threw a good target to the Invincibles but Invincibles could not cross that target for just 3 runs. Along with that, Nathan Ellis won the man of the match award by bowling brilliantly.

Oval Invincibles captain Sam Billings won the toss and decided to field first and sent off the London Spirit to bat. London Spirit set a target of 171 runs from 100 balls after losing 6 wickets depending on the runs of Eoin Morgan.

First, Adam Rossington, and Jack Crawley came to open for London Spirit. Both were playing well but at the 15th ball, Adam Rossington returned to the dressing room after being caught out at the team’s 32 runs. He scored only 14 runs off 8 balls with 2 fours.

Then Jack Crawley was playing well with Glenn Maxwell but Mohammad Hasnain dismissed him. He was caught out on the 31st ball. He scored 21 runs off 11 balls along with 4 fours. After 5 balls, Glenn Maxwell took the path to the dressing room. He scored 18 runs in 16 balls with the help of 3 fours.

Daniel Lawrence was then joined by Captain Eoin Morgan. Both were playing very well and driving the runs forward. Sunil Narine broke their partnership by bowling out Daniel Lawrence in the 75th ball. He scored 27 runs off 20 balls. He also hit 2 fours and 1 six.

Morgan, who scored the highest run for London Spirit, returned to the dressing room after 13 balls. He was caught out by Topley. He scored 47 runs off 29 balls with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes. Then Jordan Thompson left the field with 9 runs off 7 balls. Besides, Kieron Pollard scored 19 runs from 13 balls and Liam scored 1 run from 2 balls. Along with that, their team total reached 171 runs with 14 extra runs.

Sunil Narine and Mohammad Hasnain took two wickets each for Oval Invincibles. Besides, Reece Topley and Sam Curran got one wicket each.

Oval Invincibles played well while chasing runs, but it did not save them in the end, they had to leave the field with a loss for just three runs. Hilton Cartwright played the best for them. He scored 42 runs off 23 balls. Where there were 3 fours and 2 sixes. Jordan Cox scored 39 runs off 30 balls. He hit 4 fours and 1 six. Danny Briggs scored 29 runs off 11 balls. His collection had 4 fours and 1 six.

Tom Curran scored 27 runs off 15 balls with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes. Besides, Jason Roy, Will Jacks, Sam Billings, Sam Curran, and Sunil Narine scored 19 runs together. They couldn’t reach the target with 12 runs extra.

Nathan Ellis took 3 wickets for London Spirit. Jordan Thompson took 2 wickets. Liam Dawson and Mason Crane took 1 wicket each.
