Nepal police taking the help of Interpol to arrest Lamichhane?

Recently, Nepal’s national team captain Sandeep Lamichhan has been accused of rape. An arrest warrant was then issued by a court in Nepal. The cricketer is currently in the West Indies to play in the Caribbean Premier League – CPL. As he is outside the country, Nepal Police can also take the help of Interpol to arrest him.

According to an ANI report on September 7, a 17-year-old girl has accused Lamichhan of rape. The girl complained of rape by offering to meet.

She told the media, “I have been a fan of Lamichhane for a long time. At one point I got a chance to talk to him. Slowly we became friends. Then we used to talk regularly on WhatsApp and Snapchat. Later Lamichhane himself offered to meet for the first time. And before leaving the country to play CPL, he committed the rape at night on August 22.

After receiving the complaint, Kathmandu District Police Range Chief Bahadur Bohora said, “We are taking the incident seriously. The police collected CCTV footage of the hotel on the same day for investigation.”

Sandeep, accused of rape, is currently out of the country. He is now in the West Indies to play in the Caribbean Premier League for Jamaica Tallawahs. Therefore, Nepal Police can take the help of Interpol to arrest him.

However, this cricketer has not yet opened up about the allegations of rape. Apart from playing cricket for Nepal, he is also seen playing in franchise leagues in different countries.

He is the first Nepalese cricketer to play in IPL. However, his cricket career is now under threat due to allegations of rape against him. Nepal Cricket Board has already banned him from cricket.
