NED vs PAK (Match 29) – Highlights

The Netherlands and Pakistan met in the 29th match of the T20 World Cup on Sunday. Batting first in that match, the Netherlands made a capital of less than 100. But chasing that target, Pakistan reached the target with more than half of the wickets in hand before the scheduled 20 overs ended. As a result, the Netherlands left the field with a loss. Along with this, Shadab Khan won the man of the match title by bowling brilliantly for Pakistan.

After winning the toss at the Optus Stadium in Perth, the Netherlands batsmen could not stand properly in front of the Pakistani bowlers. Despite keeping wickets, their scores did not even touch the three-figure mark. At the end of the scheduled 20 overs, the Netherlands collected 91 runs after losing 9 wickets.

Colin Ackermann was the only one who put up a bit of a fight for the Dutch. The highest runs came from his bat with only captain Scott Edwards touching double figures.

After winning the toss, the Netherlands started batting at a slow pace from the start. Stephan Myburgh was out for 6 runs, Max O’Dowd was out for 8 runs. Bas de Leede scored 6 runs off 16 balls. Tom Cooper scored 1 run. Colin Ackerman added some runs to the scoreboard, but it wasn’t enough.

Ackerman scored 27 runs off 27 balls. Scott Edwards scored 15 runs off 20 balls. Roelof van der Merwe played an innings of 5 runs. Tim Pringle was out for 5 runs and Paul Van Meekeren was out for 7 runs. Logan Van Beek remained unbeaten on 6 runs. Fred Klaassen also scored a golden duck. In the end, they made a capital of 91 runs with 5 extra runs.

Among the Pakistani bowlers, Shadab Khan took the highest number of wickets with 3 wickets and Mohammad Wasim took 2 wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf took 1 wicket each.

Pakistan had to suffer a lot while chasing the 91 runs made by the Netherlands. 4 wickets were lost. About 14 overs have to be played. Most importantly, Captain Babar Azam did not get a run in this match either. However, Pakistan eventually won by 6 wickets with 37 balls to spare.

They came to the World Cup with the title of top favorite. But Pakistan went on the back foot after losing the first two matches. Especially losing to Zimbabwe. In the first match, lost to India on the very last ball. The gap was 4 wickets. The winning match with Zimbabwe came at the last minute and was lost by just 1 run in the very last ball.

However, Babar Azam’s team has been able to increase the run rate in addition to winning against the Netherlands. They have managed to bring the run rate from minus to positive. Their run rate with 2 points is now 0.765.

If they win the next two matches, Pakistan’s chances of reaching the semis will remain. They have two matches left against South Africa and Bangladesh.

Pakistan lost the wicket of Babar Azam early after going into bat with a target of 92 runs. He got out after scoring 4 runs off 5 balls. Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman took over after Babar was dismissed for the team’s 16 runs. Fakhar Zaman departed after a pair of 37 runs had been made. He was dismissed for 20 runs.

After Shan Masood came down to bat, he too could not last long. Get out for 12 runs. However, Mohammad Rizwan, who scored the highest 49 runs, departed before that. He scored 49 runs off 39 balls. There were no sixes, 5 were boundary hits.

Iftikhar Ahmed scored 6 runs and Shadab Khan scored 4 runs to leave the field with a win and unbeaten. Pakistan reached the target in 13.5 overs. Brandon Glover took 2 wickets and Paul van Meekeren took 1 wicket for the Netherlands.
