At the end of the group stage, the popular cricket franchise league Indian Premier League IPL seems to be more exciting. On Saturday, Delhi Capitals faced Royal Challengers Bangalore at Wankhede Stadium in the second match. The Delhi Capitals were given a chance to rise to the second position in the points table if they could win the match. However, it did not happen because of their loss of 18 runs against Bangalore at the last moment.
After losing the toss, Bangalore lost 5 wickets in 20 overs and scored 189 runs. Dinesh Karthik’s batting frenzy seemed to be a nightmare for Delhi. The wicketkeeper-batsman played a stormy innings of unbeaten 66 off just 34 balls. Glenn Maxwell, the Aussie star of Royal Challengers Bangalore, also played an innings of 55 runs. Delhi’s innings came to a halt at 173 as the expected run did not come from anyone other than captain Rishabh Panth.
At the beginning of the match, cutter master Mustafizur Rahman was a very expensive bowler for Delhi. The Phiz was wicketless despite spending 48 runs off four overs. Phiz spent just five runs with a boundary and a wide delivery in his first over. The left-arm pacer then spent 10 runs in the last over of the power play. After that, Dinesh Karthik became dangerous for Fizz in the 18th over, even though he was great in the 16th over. Karthik has scored 28 runs in four boundaries and two over boundaries from that over in Fiz.
Capitals captain Rishabh Panth thinks that the expensive over of Fitz has changed the momentum of the match. Panth said, ‘It was Dinesh Karthik’s aggressive batting at the last moment that put Delhi under pressure. But in the match’s middle overs, we could have bowled better, bowled a little more according to plan. The picture of the match has changed in that over of Fitz. Dinesh Karthik put us under pressure. We have to learn from our mistakes and perform well as a team.’
