Mohammad Saifuddin also dropped out due to an injury

At the time of the full bilateral series against the West Indies, the bad news of one injury after another in the Bangladesh team hit the squad. Yasir Ali Rabbi could not play in the Test series due to injury. After that, he dropped out of ODI and T20 series and is returning to the country. This time, Mohammad Saifuddin also dropped out due to an injury.

Saifuddin has been declared unfit by the BCB’s medical department for feeling pain while bowling. He is not going to tour West Indies anymore. According to a BCB source, the team management and selectors have been informed about Saifuddin’s back injury.

The pace bowling all-rounder was also dropped out of last year’s T20 World Cup due to the same injury. Then he returned to the field with the last Dhaka Premier League (DPL). He has taken 22 wickets in 14 matches for Abahani. This is the highest among the pacers in this DPL. Batting in the lower order, he also scored 270 runs.

With that performance in the DPL, Saifuddin got a place in the team in the limited-overs series against West Indies. Meanwhile, members of the Test team have already reached the Caribbean, but the limited-overs cricketers are scheduled to leave on June 24. Saifuddin’s name was also included in this event.

However, he got bad news before that. Saifuddin’s fitness test was conducted on June 22 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. He is not getting on a flight to West Indies due to being unfit. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has not yet announced who will be the replacement for the cricketer.
