The new year of cricket has started with a dance. The cricketers who appeared on the field loved to celebrate with a combination of dance. Allu Arjun danced in the popular song ‘Srivalli’ in the Telugu movie ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. That dancing trend spread to the international cricket field. It was started by Australian star David Warner.

In the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), players have also celebrated that dance in numerous matches. Many have jokingly referred to BPL as ‘Bangladesh Pushpa League’. However, it has not been seen on the cricket field for some time. ‘Srivalli’ came back again through Mohammad Amir.

Pakistan’s left-arm pacer is now busy with England’s T20 Blast. Amir is playing for Gloucestershire instead of compatriot pacer Naseem Shah. Amir showed this different celebration with his debut wicket against Somerset on 17 June. He bowled 4 overs in the match and took 2 wickets for 25 runs.

It didn’t take long for Amir to show his familiar form back at 22 yards. Will Smith was dismissed for just the third ball of the over. When the teammates came to celebrate, Amir showed the art of ‘Pushpa’. Gloucestershire shared a video of Amir’s celebration on Twitter.

Then, Amir came to bowl in the 18th over of the match and saw his second wicket. Although Amir did well, Somerset scored 184 runs. Gloucestershire was bowled out for 177 in reply. Meanwhile, after retiring from international cricket in 2020, Amir returned for the first time in 22 yards.
