Liton is ranked first among Bangladeshis in the Test ranking

টেস্ট র‍্যাংকিংয়ে বাংলাদেশের মধ্যে সেরা অবস্থানে লিটন

Tiger Batter Liton Kumar Das made a record in the Test ranking. Liton has moved up two steps to 12th place in the ICC Test rankings, and this ranking is the highest in Bangladesh’s Test history.

This is the first time in Bangladesh’s Test history that a batsman has made this record. Liton also surpassed India’s Virat Kohli as he performed well with the bat in the recently concluded Test series against India.

Liton has had a dream year in white jersey. Liton had a great time in the just-concluded Test series against India, despite losing 2-0. From the 14th position, he has moved up two steps to the 12th position. He is the first Bangladeshi batsman to occupy the 12th position.

Like Liton, Taijul Islam has also improved in the ranking. He has now moved up two steps in the ranking of bowlers. The left-handed spinner of Bangladesh moved two places ahead at the 28th position. Moreover, Mominul Haque has advanced five steps. He is now at number 68. However, Shakib Al Hasan stepped 3 steps behind at number 40 and Mushfiqur Rahim stepped 1 step behind at number 20.

India won the Test series 2-0 against Bangladesh. And by winning the team, Ravichandran Ashwin increased the gap with Shakib Al Hasan. The team won and the rating points increased by 7. Ravindra Jadeja is now the only one ahead of Ashwin in second place. Shakib is third with an unchanged rating of 329 from earlier.

It should be noted that Liton was earlier in the 12th position. He was in 12th position with 724 rating points after the Mirpur Test series against Sri Lanka last May. However, before the Mirpur Test against India, Liton was ranked 14th.

On the other hand, Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer got a reward for his great batting against Bangladesh. He has moved up to the 16th position. Besides, among the Indian batsmen are Rishabh Pant at number 6, Rohit Sharma at number 14 and Kohli at 14th. Liton is praised by cricket fans as he has a career-best ranking. In a recent interview, Liton said that he wants to retain this form in 2023 as well. If so, it is good for Liton as well as great for Team Bangladesh.
