With the 16th season of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 scheduled to begin on March 31, the season opener of the tournament will see defending champions Gujarat Titans take on Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

With the upcoming match, GT also has the massive responsibility of filling the gigantic Narendra Modi Stadium, which has a capacity of over 130,000 spectators. As ticket booking for the tournament can be tedious for many, Gujarat Titans are working endlessly to make it a seamless experience for the fans.

GT COO Colonel Arvinder Singh recently came forward to talk about how they have had no problems filling the Narendra Modi Stadium with fans.

“Surprisingly, that’s not a worry at all. Our first game is already sold out. And this was sold out almost a week back. From that perspective, we are now focusing on subsequent games. The expectation is so high for two reasons – a) we are the defending champions, and b) this is the first time Gujarat Titans will conduct its home games. Everything is coming along well,” Arvinder Singh told News18’s CricketNext.

It’s a huge exercise for sure, but things are working out well, and we are sure that what we showcase will be a different experience. An experience of which we can be proud, and an experience of which fans and supporters of Gujarat Titans can be proud,” he added.

We went about it in a slightly systematic manner: Singh on ticket booking

Arvinder Singh also talked about how pre-registration of tickets helped them ease the ticket booking process for the fans. He opined that the facility to have the tickets delivered worked well in GT’s favour.

“We went about it in a slightly systematic manner to the extent that we went with pre-registration, and obviously people who did pre-register had an option to open a window for themselves for a period of time before we opened it for the general public, which really helped. It showed the kind of interest levels that actual general buyers had for our tickets,” Singh said.

“And the fact that home delivery is available and then they can book their parking alongside these small, minor things has certainly helped. Almost 99% of the tickets sold online for the first game were opting for home delivery. The facility of getting tickets delivered to you at a nominal cost has worked well,” he added.
