Shaheen Afridi, one of Pakistan’s star pacers, is not playing in this year’s Asia Cup. However, this young pacer is right at the centre of discussion. Team India lost to Shaheen in the last T20 World Cup. He is one of the key players who beat India by 10 wickets. Took wickets of Kohli, Rohit, KL Rahul.
In this year’s Asia Cup, the memory of that match comes back when the two teams face each other again. KL Rahul met Afridi in training in Dubai, and he looked after Afridi’s injury and wished him well.
Later in an interview, KL Rahul said, “Shaheen is a world-class bowler. Left-arm pacers have become dangerous in world cricket now, and they are creating trouble for the batsmen. If Shaheen could play, it would have been a good experience. But unfortunately, he is injured.”
It should be noted that Shaheen was injured in the Galle Test during the last tour of Sri Lanka. Despite being left out of the Asia Cup squad, he is with the Pakistan team in Dubai at the request of Pakistan captain Babar Azam. His rehab is going on there. Before the T20 World Cup, Babar wants Shaheen to recover and bring him back to the team.
