The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) Chief Selector Chetan Sharma recently revealed explosive information about Indian cricket. However, he did not remain in office after such comments. Chetan has resigned from the BCCI job. However, no pressure was applied by the board to make him resign. Chetan is said to have voluntarily resigned as a selector.
Recently, a statement by Chetan created a stir in Indian cricket. Chetan said Indian cricketers take injections to stay physically fit. Cricketers also adopt this approach to get passing marks in board fitness tests. Not only that, Chetan also highlighted Virat Kohli’s relationship with former BCCI presidents Sourav Ganguly and Rohit Sharma. It has started a discussion – criticism in the cricket neighbourhood.
About the cricketers, Chetan said, “Most of the players in the Indian team take banned injections to stay 100% fit. Even the players who are 80% fit take these banned injections. Senior cricketers like Jasprit Bumrah are on the list. The Indian team has more problems. With Rohit and Sourav. Senior player Kohli’s relationship with Rohit and Sourav is not good.”
The controversy started in Indian cricket after Chetan’s statement. About Chetan’s resignation, a BCCI source said, “Chetan submitted his resignation letter to BCCI Secretary Jai Shah. The board secretary accepted his resignation letter and accepted it. The statement given by Chetan is not acceptable in any way. Although it calls for him to resign, on behalf of the board, No pressure was applied. He submitted his resignation voluntarily.”
It should be noted that this Indian selector came to the discussion even after the last Twenty20 World Cup. But in the end, BCCI has faith in Chetan’s shoulder. Now that he has resigned, India has to take an alternative route. Of course, they are not sitting anymore. According to the board, new selectors will be appointed soon. However, it is not known who will be the new Indian selector.
