How much money will the cricketers get paid in BPL?

The next season of Bangladesh Premier League – BPL will be played on January 6 next year. The BPL Governing Council has revealed various aspects of this franchise-based T20 tournament. The names of the participating 7 teams have already been finalized. Now it is known, the venue of the tournament and the remuneration of local and foreign cricketers.

On Monday, it was informed about the remuneration of the cricketers, the domestic cricketers in the highest category will get 80 lakhs. Besides, foreign cricketers will get a maximum of 80 thousand US dollars. Besides, the minimum remuneration for cricketers has been set at 5 lakhs. Meanwhile, there is no icon cricketer in the next BPL.

The franchises will form the team with the players of their choice from the players’ draft. Domestic cricketers have been placed in a total of 7 categories. Cricketers of the A category will get 80 lakhs. Besides B category 50 lakhs, C category 30 lakhs, D category 20 lakhs, E category 15 lakhs, F category 10 lakhs and G category cricketers will get 5 lakhs.

BPL Governing Council Member Secretary Ismail Haider Mallick and Chairman Sheikh Sohail appeared in a press conference in Mirpur on September 26. Mallik said, ”The 7 organizations that have got a team will be given time for the next 2 weeks. Meanwhile, the franchise has to be confirmed by depositing the guaranteed money (Tk 10 crore). ”

The total number of matches in the upcoming BPL is 46. All the matches of the tournament will be held at Mirpur Sher Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Chittagong Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium and Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. But there may be bad news for the viewers, there will be no opening ceremony in the upcoming BPL.
