অবশেষে কোচ রাসেল ডমিঙ্গোর বাংলাদেশ অধ্যায় শেষ

Ending all speculations, the Bangladesh chapter of Tigers head coach Russell Domingo has finally come to an end. He is no longer the head coach of the team. According to BCB sources, Domingo himself has resigned from the position of coach. Domingo has been in the headlines ever since.

A few days ago BCB informed us that they are going ahead with long-term plans. BCB said, “We are moving forward with a plan, not a short-term plan, but a long-term plan. A three-four-year plan. If it requires change, change will come.”

Jalal Yunus, head of BCB’s cricket management department, confirmed Domingo’s resignation. Domingo announced his resignation via email. Jalal Yunus said, “Domingo has resigned. He informed us by mail last night.”

Rumours had been circulating for several days that Domingo would no longer be retained as head coach. BCB has started looking for another coach instead. The new coach will be appointed after the recently concluded series against India. It is even known that Chandika Hathurasingh, the former head coach of the Tigers, can serve as the new coach of the team instead of Domingo. But Domingo resigned before that.

Meanwhile, Jalal Yunus said about the appointment of a new coach before the England series, “The Domingo chapter is over. Talks are going on about a new coach, of course, we will see a new coach before the England series. Maybe one of the people we are talking to will take over. . It may take some time but I don’t want to say before the name is finalized. We will let you know when it is confirmed. Hope the team will do well under the new coach”.

Bangladesh played a total of 22 Test matches under Domingo. Among them, they won 3, lost 17 and drew 2 tests. However, Domingo was more successful in ODIs than Tests. Team Bangladesh played a total of 30 ODIs under him. Out of this, Bangladesh won 21 matches and lost the remaining 9 matches. On the other hand, the Tigers have played 46 T20s under Domingo. Among them, they won 19 and lost 26 matches. The remaining 1 match did not result. Let’s see how Bangladesh fares under the new coach at the end of the Domingo chapter.

It should be noted that Domingo took charge as Bangladesh team coach for two years in August 2019. This agreement was extended in 2021 until the ODI World Cup in India in 2023. But before that, Domingo resigned.
