England is coming to Bangladesh after half a century

অর্ধযুগ পর বাংলাদেশ সফরে আসছে ইংল্যান্ড

Bilateral series between England and Bangladesh are very rare. Though played in Kalebhadre, it is only one day. This time the England cricket team is coming to Bangladesh with innovation in February. After 6 long years, England and Bangladesh will fight for the white ball in the tigers’ den. The English last played the series in 2016. That too in the 50-over format.

Jos Buttler’s team will set foot in Bangladesh at the end of February. The first match of the series will start on March 1. On this day, the first ODI will be held at Sher Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The second match of the series will also be played at the same ground on March 3. The third and final ODI match will be played at Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Cricket Stadium in Bandarnagar on March 6.

There is also a T20 series on this tour. Both teams will play three matches in a short format. The matches will be held on March 9, 12 and 14 respectively. The matches will be organized by two venues in Dhaka and Chittagong. Note that Bangladesh and England are going to play the bilateral T20 series for the first time. Although they have played ODIs and Test series in the past, they have not fought in the shorter format.

The Interim Chief Executive of England Cricket Board (ECB) Clare Connor said about the fight between the two countries, “England is going to play a series on the soil of Bangladesh again after a long time, it’s a great thing. Hopefully, there will be a good cricket atmosphere in Bangladesh. All the people there are crazy about the game. But at home.” A challenge against the Tigers. They’re a good team there.”

Meanwhile, after stepping foot in Bangladesh on February 20, the visitors will also play two warm-up matches. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) informed that England’s two warm-up matches will be held on February 24 and 26. Although it is not known in which field the matches will be played. However, it is believed that the warm-up match of the visitors can be held at the BCB Academy ground as usual.
