Donald is the pace bowling coach of Bangladesh till World Cup

It has been almost a year since Alan Donald took charge of Bangladesh. He is mainly serving as pace bowling coach of Tigers. During this time, there has been a noticeable improvement in the performance. They are proving their skills and abilities in the national team. Meanwhile, the ICC ODI World Cup is approaching. And Donald is in charge till this World Cup.

Donald was appointed as the coach of Bangladesh in March last year. At that time he signed a contract until the T20 World Cup at the end of 2022. The contract was later extended, until the home series against India. However, the term of the contract was extended again. And this South African coach will work for almost the entire period of 2023.

The ODI World Cup is going to start in India in October. Bangladesh’s expectations are high in this event. This is the World Cup in Asian conditions, secondly their favorite format. Moreover, judging by the team’s current form and position in the 50-over game, the Tigers are dreaming big. And there is no substitute for a good coach to realize that dream. Bangladesh has kept Donald from that thought.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed that Donald has been retained as the coach of Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman. Also, the board has ordered all the staff of the coaching panel to join the team on February 22. The national team will start the training camp from February 23, after the players are busy playing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Meanwhile, the England team is coming to visit Bangladesh at the end of February. The English will play three ODI and T20 matches against the hosts. Chandika Hathurusinghe is returning as a coach to the Bangladesh team with this series. According to the BCB, this Sri Lankan coach will also be seen in the camp starting from February 22
