CPL 2021 Match 9 (Trinbago Knight Riders vs Saint Lucia Kings)

Despite losing the previous match by 5 runs, the Trinbago Knight Riders have managed to win the 9th match of the CPL by 27 runs against Saint Lucia Kings. After losing the toss and coming down to bat first, the Knight Riders lost 7 wickets in 20 overs and scored 158 runs. Kieron Pollard (41 off 29 balls) was the highest run-scorer for the team. Tim Seifert also played an effective inning of 37 playing 25 balls. Kesrick Williams took the greatest number of wickets for the Kings (4-24, 4 overs).

Chasing the target of 159 runs, the Kings’ innings stopped when they scored 131 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Kings’ opener Andre Fletcher started to take on the bowlers from the beginning. He continued to bat at one end of the wicket, but the Knight Riders’ aggressive bowling didn’t let others give him good company. As a result, the pace of the King’s run-wheel couldn’t be accelerated.

Fletcher played an unbeaten inning of 81 facing 55 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes. However, apart from Faf du Plessis (14) and Mark Deyal (14), no other batsman has been able to reach double figures. Ravi Rampaul took the maximum number of 3 wickets for the Knight Riders.

CPL 2021 Match 10 (Barbados Royals vs Jamaica Tallawahs)

In the 10th match of the CPL, Jamaica Tallawahs won by 6 wickets against Barbados Royals. After winning the toss and opting to bat first, the Royals lost 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and scored 151 runs. Azam Khan played an innings of 50 runs off 30 balls for the team. Glenn Phillips scored 31 off 29 balls. Migael Pretorius took the greatest number of 4 wickets for Tallawahs.

Chasing the target of 152 runs, Tallawahs lost 3 wickets to score 51 runs in 8 overs. From there, openers Kennar Lewis and Shamarh Brooks led the team back into the match. Lewis returned to the pavilion after scoring 89 runs off 53 balls smashing 9 fours and 5 sixes. Brooks hit 4 fours and 2 sixes in an unbeaten 47 off 26 balls, left the field after winning with 14 balls to spare. Joshua Bishop took the greatest number of wickets for the Royals (3-20, 4 overs).
