ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 – Match 18 (South Africa vs West Indies)

In the 18th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, South Africa have won by 8 wickets with 10 balls to spare against the West Indies at the Dubai International Stadium. After losing the toss, West Indies batted first and lost 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs to collect 143 runs.

Evin Lewis played a devastating inning of 56 off 35 balls with 3 fours and 6 sixes for the Caribbeans. Besides, the captain Kieron Pollard scored 26 runs off 20 balls. Dwaine Pretorius took the maximum number of 3 wickets for the Proteas. Besides, Keshav Maharaj took 2 wickets, and Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada took 1 wicket each.

Chasing an easy target of 144, South Africa reached the target in 18.2 overs losing just two wickets. Aiden Markram played a stormy inning of 51 off 26 balls remaining unbeaten with 2 fours and 4 sixes. Reeza Hendricks scored 39 and Rassie van der Dussen was unbeaten on 43 runs. Akeal Hosein took 1 wicket for West Indies.

After winning this match, South Africa has risen to the 4th position in the points table of Group 1 in Super 12. On the other hand, West Indies are at the bottom of the points table with their second consecutive defeat.

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 – Match 19 (Pakistan vs New Zealand)

In the second match of the day, Pakistan has got a victory by 5 wickets with 8 balls to spare in a low-scoring match against New Zealand at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. After losing the toss and opting to bat first, New Zealand was able to score 134 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs due to the brilliant bowling of Pakistani bowlers.

Daryl Mitchell and Devon Conway both played the highest scoring innings of 27 runs for the Kiwis. Besides, captain Kane Williamson made 25 runs off 26 balls. Haris Rauf took the maximum number of 4 wickets for Pakistan. Apart from him, Shaheen Afridi, Imad Wasim, and Mohammad Hafeez took one wicket each for the team.

Chasing the target of 135 runs, Pakistan lost 2 wickets to make only 47 in 9 overs. Mohammad Rizwan (33) tried from one end of the wicket but no one could give him a worthy company. In the end, Pakistan reached the port of victory thanks to an unbeaten 48-run stand by Shoaib Malik and Asif Ali for the fifth wicket.

Asif played a stormy inning of unbeaten 27 off 12 balls for the team. At the other end, Malik remained unbeaten on 26 off 20 balls. Ish Sodhi took the highest number of 2 wickets for the Black Caps. Tim Southee, Mitchell Santner, and Trent Boult took one wicket each.

After winning this match, Pakistan has retained the top spot in the points table of Group 2 with its second consecutive victory in the Super 12. On the other hand, New Zealand is in 4th place in the points table after the debacle.
