In the 17th match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, Afghanistan has secured a huge victory of 130 runs against Scotland at Sharjah Cricket Stadium courtesy of Mujeeb Ur Rahman’s great spell. After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Afghanistan lost 4 wickets in 20 overs and scored 190 runs.

Najibullah Zadran played the highest innings of 59 runs in 34 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes for the team. Besides, Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 46 off 37 balls and Hazratullah Zazai scored 44 off 30 balls. Safyaan Sharif took the maximum number of 2 wickets for Scotland. Mark Watt and Josh Davey also took one wicket each.

Batting for a huge target of 192 runs, Scotland’s batting line-up collapsed like a house of cards with the great bowling of the Afghan bowlers. They go all out for 60 runs in just 10.2 overs. George Munsey scored 25 runs off 18 balls for the team. Chris Greaves scored 12 and Kyle Coetzer put up 10 runs. Besides, no other batsman could make double digits for Scotland. For the Afghans, Mujeeb Ur Rahman took the highest number of 5 wickets conceding only 20 runs in 4 overs. Rashid Khan took 4 wickets and Naveen-ul-Haq took 1 wicket.

After winning this match, Afghanistan is at the top of the points table of Group 2 in Super 12. Defeated Scotland is at the bottom of the points table on the other hand.
