Shoaib Malik top-scored for Zalmi with 58 off 41 balls. In the end, Hussain Talat played a stormy innings of 51 runs off 33 balls hitting 6 fours and 1 six, and Ben Cutting scored 36 off 14 balls with 1 four and 4 sixes. Naseem Shah took the maximum number of 4 wickets for the Gladiators.
Chasing a challenging target of 186 runs, the Gladiators’ innings came to a halt at 161 after losing 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs due to the controlled bowling of Zalmi’s bowlers. Will Smeed played a devastating innings of 99 off 60 balls with 12 fours and 3 sixes for the team. Besides, captain Sarfaraz Ahmed scored 25 and Jason Roy scored 13 runs to get closer to the target. Usman Qadir picked up the maximum number of 3 wickets and Salman Irshad took 2 wickets.
After winning this match, Peshawar Zalmi is at 4th position in the points table. On the other hand, Quetta Gladiators are at 5th position in the points table after getting defeated.
