BPL 2022 – Eliminator (Chattogram Challengers vs Khulna Tigers)

Chattogram Challengers have defeated Khulna Tigers by 7 runs in the Eliminator of BPL 2022 on Monday at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur courtesy of Chadwick Walton’s tremendous innings. After losing the toss and batting first, the Challengers lost 5 wickets in 20 overs and scored 189 runs.

For the Challengers, Chadwick Walton played the top-scoring innings of unbeaten 89 off 44 balls with 7 fours and 7 sixes. Besides, Kennar Lewis scored 39 off 32 balls and Mehidy Hasan scored 36 off 30 balls. Khaled Ahmed took the highest number of 2 wickets for the Tigers.

Chasing the challenging target of 190 runs, the Tigers’ innings came to a halt at 182 runs after losing 5 wickets in 20 overs due to the brilliant bowling of the Challengers’ bowlers. Opener Andre Fletcher scored the highest 80 runs off 58 balls with six fours and four sixes. In addition, the Tigers could not reach the verge of victory even after the stormy innings of Yasir Ali (45 off 24 balls) and Mushfiqur Rahim (43 off 29 balls). For the Challengers, Mehidy took the maximum number of 2 wickets. Nasum Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Mrittunjoy Chowdhury took 1 wicket each for the bowling side as well.

Chattogram Challengers have secured the 2nd Qualifier spot of the tournament by winning this match. On the other hand, after losing, Khulna Tigers are out of the competition.

BPL 2022 – 1st Qualifier (Fortune Barishal vs Comilla Victorians)

Fortune Barishal has conquered Comilla Victorians by 10 runs in the 1st Qualifier of BPL 2022 at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Monday. After losing the toss and getting to bat first, Fortune lost 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and scored 143 runs.

Munim Shahriar played the highest innings of 44 runs from 30 balls hitting 2 fours and 4 sixes for Fortune. Besides, Chris Gayle scored 22 runs, and Ziaur Rahman and Dwayne Bravo both played an effective innings of 17 runs each. Shohidul Islam took the maximum number of 3 and Moeen Ali scalped 2 wickets for the Victorians.

Chasing the target of 144 runs, Victorians lost 7 wickets in 20 overs and were confined to 133 runs due to the controlled bowling of the Fortune’s bowlers. Opener Liton Das scored the highest 38 off 35 balls for the team. In addition, Moeen also scored 22 off 15 balls and Faf du Plessis scored 21 off 15 balls. Shafiqul Islam, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Mehedi Hasan Rana took the maximum number of 2 wickets each for the Fortune. Dwayne Bravo also took 1 wicket.

Fortune Barishal has secured a place as the first finalist of the tournament by winning this match. On the other hand, Comilla Victorians will face Chattogram Challengers in the 2nd Qualifier tomorrow as a result of losing this match.

PSL 2022 – Match 21 (Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings)

Islamabad United got a triumph over Karachi Kings by 1 run in the 21st match of PCL 2022 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. After losing the toss and batting first, United lost 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and collected a big score of 191 runs.

For the United, captain Shadab Khan top-scored with 34 off 26 balls. In the end, Faheem Ashraf (29* off 10 balls) and Asif Ali (28 off 11 balls) played two stormy innings for the team to get the big total. Besides, Alex Hales scored 25 and Azam Khan scored 22 runs. Imad Wasim took the highest number of 2 wickets for the Kings.

Chasing a big target of 192 runs, the Kings’ innings came to a halt at 190 after losing eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs due to outstanding bowling of the United’s bowlers. Imad played a devastating innings of 55 runs off 28 balls smashing 6 fours and 3 sixes for the team. In addition, Sharjeel Khan scored 44 off 29 balls and Qasim Akram remained unbeaten on 51 off 26 balls for the second batting side. Waqas Maqsood was the top wicket-taker for the United with 3 wickets and Asif took 2 wickets.

After winning this match, Islamabad United is still placed at the 3rd spot in the points table. On the other hand, Karachi Kings are at the bottom of the points table after losing successive seven matches in this edition of the tournament.
