BPL 2022 – Match 27 (Khulna Tigers vs Comilla Victorians)

Comilla Victorians have defeated Khulna Tigers by 65 runs in the 27th match of BPL 2022 at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Friday with the help of Moeen Ali’s all-around performance. After losing the toss and batting first, the Victorians lost 6 wickets in 20 overs and scored 188 runs.

For the Victorians, Moeen played a devastating inning of 75 off 35 balls smashing 1 four and 9 sixes. Liton Das (41 off 17 balls) and Faf du Plessis (38 off 36 balls) also played two stormy innings for the team. Thisara Perera took the most number of 2 wickets for the Tigers.

Chasing a challenging target of 189 runs, the Tigers’ innings was reduced to 123 in 19.3 overs by the great bowling of the Victorians’ bowlers. For the team, Perera scored the highest 26 runs off 23 balls. Besides, Soumya Sarkar scored 22 and Yasir Ali scored 18 runs. Abu Hider Rony took the maximum number of 3 wickets for the Victorians. Moeen, Mustafizur Rahman, and Nahidul Islam took 2 wickets each, and Tanvir Islam took 1 wicket.

Comilla Victorians have risen to 2nd place in the points table after winning this match. On the other hand, after losing, Khulna Tigers are now at 5th position in the points table.

 BPL 2022 – Match 28 (Fortune Barishal vs Minister Group Dhaka)

In the second match of Friday’s doubleheader in BPL 2022 at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, courtesy of Shakib Al Hasan’s great performance in both batting and bowling departments, Fortune Barishal has picked up a big victory of 8 wickets with 27 balls in hand against Minister Group Dhaka. After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Minister Group Dhaka managed to score 128 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs due to the controlled bowling of the Fortune’s bowlers.

Opener Tamim Iqbal scored the highest 66 runs off 50 balls with 9 fours and 1 six for the Minister Group Dhaka. Shuvagata Hom remained unbeaten with 21 runs off 27 balls. Apart from these two, no other batsman could manage to make a double-digit score. For the Fortune, Dwayne Bravo, Mehedi Hasan Rana, and Shafiqul Islam took the maximum number of 2 wickets each. Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Shakib took 1 wicket each.

Chasing an easy target of 129 runs, Fortune lost just 2 wickets in 15.3 overs and reached the port of victory. Shakib, the world’s best all-rounder, played a match-winning innings of 51 off 29 balls smashing 6 fours and 2 sixes for the team. Besides, Munim Shahriar scored 37 off 25 balls and Najmul Hossain Shanto left the field unbeaten on 28 runs. Shafiul Islam and Qais Ahmad took one wicket each for the Minister Group Dhaka.

Fortune Barishal has retained the top spot in the points table by winning six matches in a row including this match. On the other hand, the Minister Group Dhaka is in the 3rd position in the points table after getting defeated in this match.

PSL 2022 – Match 17 (Lahore Qalandars vs Multan Sultans)

Lahore Qalandars have got a win over Multan Sultans by 52 runs in the 17th match of PSL 2022 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. After losing the toss, the Qalandars batted first and scored 182 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

For the Qalandars, Fakhar Zaman played a devastating inning of 60 off 37 balls hitting six fours and two sixes. Mohammad Hafeez scored 43 and Kamran Ghulam scored 42 runs. In the end, Philip Salt remained unbeaten after playing a stormy inning of 26 off 13 balls. For the Sultans, Imran Tahir, Anwar Ali, Abbas Afridi, and Shahnawaz Dahani took one wicket each.

Coming down to chase a challenging target of 183 runs, Sultan’s innings collapsed like a house of cards to score 130 runs in 19.3 overs by the aggressive bowling of the Qalandars’ bowlers. Sohaib Maqsood top-scored with 29 runs from 26 balls for the team. In addition, Tim David scored 24 and Khushdil Shah scored 22 runs. Zaman Khan took the maximum number of 3 wickets for the Qalandars. Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, and Rashid Khan took two wickets each.

After winning this match, Lahore Qalandars have risen to 2nd place in the points table. Despite getting defeated in this match, the Multan Sultans are still at the top of the PSL 2022 standings.
