ENG vs IND (5th Test – Day 1)

The fifth and final match of the Test series between England and India in Manchester on Friday has been cancelled three hours before the start of the match. The match was cancelled after the Indian team’s assistant physiotherapist Yogesh Parmar was tested positive in the RT-PCR test on Thursday.

Although Yogesh Parmar was tested positive in the RT-PCR test, the test results of all the players were negative. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have communicated with each other regularly since then. In the end, with the consent of the two boards, it was decided to cancel the match.

There’s no official statement on the re-schedule of the match. It is learned that ICC is going to intervene shortly as this is a part of the World Test Championship as well.
