BBL 2021/22 – Match 44 (Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Thunder)

In the 44th match of BBL 2021/22, Sydney Thunder has got a huge victory of 9 wickets against Hobart Hurricanes with 16 balls in hand thanks to the great innings of Alex Hales at MCG ground in Melbourne. After winning the toss and bat first, the Hurricanes lost 6 wickets in 20 overs and scored 139 runs.

Ben McDermott top-scored for the Hurricanes with 38 off 34 balls. In addition, D’Arcy Short scored 29 runs, and Peter Handscomb scored 21 runs for the team. Gurinder Sandhu and Nathan McAndrew took two wickets each for Thunder. Besides, Daniel Sams and Tanveer Sangha took 1 wicket each.

Chasing an easy target of 140 runs, the Thunder lost just one wicket and reached the port of victory in 17.2 overs. Opener Alex Hales played a devastating inning of unbeaten 80 off 56 balls hitting 11 fours and 1 six for the team. BBL 2021/22 – Match 43 (Melbourne Stars vs Adelaide Strikers)

Melbourne Stars have won by 5 wickets with 5 balls in hand against Adelaide Strikers courtesy of Joe Clarke’s devastating innings at MCG Ground in Melbourne in the 43rd match of BBL 2021/22. After losing the toss and opting to bat first, the Strikers were able to score 139 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs due to the bowling canon of the Stars bowlers.

Jonathan Wells played the top-scoring innings of 68 runs playing 56 balls for the Strikers. Also, Harry Nielsen scored 14 and Thomas Kelly scored 13 runs. Qais Ahmad, Adam Zampa, and Haris Rauf took two wickets for the Stars, and Clint Hinchliffe and Brody Couch took one.

Chasing an easy target of 140 runs, the Stars reached the victory port by losing 5 wickets in 19.1 overs. Smashing 3 fours and 4 sixes for the team, wicketkeeper-batsman Joe Clarke played a stormy inning of 83 runs from 58 balls. Hilton Cartwright scored 17 off 11 balls and Beau Webster scored an unbeaten 14 off 20 balls. Peter Siddle took the maximum number of 2 wickets for the Strikers.

After winning this match, the Melbourne Stars have risen to 7th place in the points table. And the losing other side the Adelaide Strikers, are still at the bottom of the points table.

NZ vs BAN (2nd Test – Day 2)

New Zealand started the second day with 349 runs to lose one wicket. Devon Conway, who went down to bat with 99 runs, picked up his century early in the day. However, the innings could not be longer. The Kiwi batsman returned to the pavilion after being run out by Mehidy Hasan’s throw after playing an innings of 109 off 166 balls with 12 fours and 1 six.

Just before the lunch break, pacer Shoriful Islam sent off Daryl Mitchell (3) to the dressing room. After the break, Tom Latham and Tom Blundell batted in ODI style and made a 76-run partnership. The Kiwi captain returned to the pavilion with hitting 34 fours and 2 sixes and played an innings of 252 off 373 balls, Yasir Ali got his wicket with a fine catch by Mominul Haque. In the end, New Zealand declared their first innings by scoring 521 runs for 6 wickets.

In their first innings, Bangladesh lost 5 wickets for 27 runs and dropped out of the match. Shadman Islam scored 7 runs, Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 4 runs, Liton Das scored 8 runs. However, captain Mominul Haque and Mohammad Naim could not open the scoring book.

Yasir Ali and Nurul Hasan put on 60 runs for the sixth wicket partnership. Although Nurul returned with 41 runs, Yasir hit a half-century, and Yasir made 55 off 95 balls with the help of 7 fours. However, the Tigers could not score more than 126 runs in the fierce bowling of the Kiwi bowlers.

The second day’s play ended with the end of Bangladesh’s innings. Trent Boult took the maximum number of 5 wickets for New Zealand, and Tim Southee took 3 wickets and Kyle Jamieson took 2 wickets.
