In the 16th match of PSL 2022, Multan Sultans got a great triumph of 42 runs against Peshawar Zalmi at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. After losing the toss, the Sultans batted first and scored 182 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

For the Sultans, Shan Masood played a devastating inning of 68 runs off 49 balls hitting 8 fours and 1 six. Besides, Tim David (34 off 18 balls) and Mohammad Rizwan (34 off 34 balls) also played two effective innings. Salman Irshad, Wahab Riaz, and Saqib Mahmood took the maximum number of 2 wickets each for the Zalmi.

Chasing the challenging target of 183 runs, Zalmi was all-out for 140 in 19.3 overs due to the great bowling of Sultans’ bowlers. Shoaib Malik played the highest innings of 44 runs from 31 balls for the team. In addition, Liam Livingstone scored 24 and Ben Cutting scored 23 runs. Blessing Muzarabani and Khushdil Shah scalped the maximum number of 3 wickets each for the Sultans. Shahnawaz Dahani took 2 wickets and Imran Tahir and Abbas Afridi took 1 wicket each.

The Multan Sultans are at the top of the points table with six wins from six matches so far and have secured a place in the play-off as the first team in the tournament. On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi is in the 5th position on the points table after losing this match.
