On the fifth and final day of the match, India needed only 157 runs to win with 9 wickets in hand, which could have been scored effortlessly by Virat Kohli’s team. But on the last day, the rain did not allow the game to roll on the field. Not a single ball was bowled due to heavy rain. As a result, both teams had to accept the draw with a dull face.
At Trent Bridge, the way the Indian batsmen batted in the first innings, if they batted in the second innings like that as well, it would have been a danger for England. The Indians could have won. But the rain saved England. India ended the fourth day with 52 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 14 overs.
