The 1st day of the 2nd Test between Pakistan and Zimbabwe rolled on the field yesterday. Let’s have a look at the article to know about the exciting moments of the game.

ZIM vs PAK (2nd Test – Day 1)

Zimbabwe and Pakistan are playing the second and final Test of the series on Friday, May 7 at the Sports Club Stadium in Harare. In this series-determining match, Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bat first. Imran Butt returned to the dressing room in the team’s total of 12 runs. Only two runs came from his bat, the wicket was taken by left-arm pacer Richard Ngarava.

After that Abid Ali and Azhar Ali formed a marathon pair in 75 overs. These two added 236 runs. Azhar scored his 18th career century and Abid scored his third. It seemed that Pakistan would spend the whole day with this alliance. But in the 81st over, Zimbabwe turned the game around with the new ball. The Abid-Azhar pair was batting well before the second new ball was taken. Blessing Muzarabani broke the tie in the third over with the new ball. Azhar returned to the dressing room scoring 126 off 240 balls.

Later, Babar and Fawad Alam became the second and third victims of Muzarabani. Captain Babar was able to score 2 runs and Fawad 3 runs. The Test series against Zimbabwe is not going well for Babar, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team and he is also one of the best batsmen these days. After a failure in the only innings of the first match, his bat did not shine in the first innings of the second match too, he was out for only 2 runs.

Despite the captain’s failure, Pakistan reached a solid position on the first day of the second Test of the series with a pair of centuries by top-order batsmen Abid and Azhar. With Abid Ali (118*) and Sajid Khan (1*) on the wickets, the visitors finished their day’s game losing 4 wickets and scored 268 runs.

Scoreboard:
Pakistan (1st Innings) 268/4 (90.0)
