In the 14th match of PSL 2022, Islamabad United got a great victory by 42 runs against Karachi Kings at National Stadium in Karachi, courtesy of Shadab Khan’s brilliant all-around performance. Islamabad United won the toss and elected to bat first. They lost 6 wickets in 20 overs and scored 177 runs.

Paul Stirling hit 3 fours and 2 sixes for the United, and he played the highest innings of 39 from 30 balls. Colin Munro scored 33, and Alex Hales scored 30 runs. Besides, captain Shadab Khan played a stormy inning of 34 off 19 balls. Chris Jordan took the most number of 2 wickets for the Kings.

Chasing a challenging 178-run target, the Kings ‘innings came to a halt at 135 after losing nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs under the controlled bowling of the United bowlers. Mohammad Nabi played the top-scoring innings of 47 off 28 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes for the unbeaten team. In addition, Sahibzada Farhan scored 25, and Lewis Gregory scored 15 runs. Shadab Khan took the maximum number of 4 wickets with 15 runs in 4 overs for the United. Hasan Ali, Waqas Maqsood, and Mohammad Wasim Jr took one wicket each.

After winning this match, Islamabad United has climbed to the second spot in the points standings. On the other hand, Karachi Kings are at the bottom of the points table after losing five matches in a row, including this match.

IND vs WI (1st ODI)

In the 1st ODI of the series, the hosts India has picked up a big 6-wicket win over the visiting West Indies in the whirlwind magic of Yuzvendra Chahal at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After losing the toss and batting first, West Indies were bowled out for 176 runs in 43.5 overs due to the aggressive bowling of the Indian bowlers.

Jason Holder was the top scorer for the visitors with 57 off 71 balls. Fabian Allen scored 29, and Nicholas Pooran and Darren Bravo played two innings of 18 runs. Yuzvendra Chahal took the maximum number of 4 wickets for the hosts. Besides, Washington Sundar took 3 wickets, Prasidh Krishna took 2, and Mohammed Siraj took 1 wicket for the Men in Blues.

Chasing an easy target of 177, Indian captain Rohit Sharma (60) and opener Ishan Kishan (28) put on a great opening partnership of 84 runs. Virat Kohli made 8 off 4 balls. After falling victim to Alzarri Joseph, he returned to the dressing room. Young star Rishabh Pant was run out, getting 11 runs off 9 balls.

Suryakumar Yadav (34*) and Deepak Hooda (26*) put on an unbeaten 62 off 63 balls for the fifth wicket partnership.
