BBL 2021/22 – Match 2 (Sydney Thunder vs Brisbane Heat)

Sydney Thunder has got a big victory of 7 wickets against Brisbane Heat in the 2nd match of BBL 2021/22 at Manuka Oval. After losing the toss, the Brisbane Heat scored 140 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Ben Duckett scored the highest 46 runs for the Heat. Sam Heazlett (42) and Xavier Bartlett (26) also played two good innings. Daniel Sams took the maximum number of 3 wickets for the Thunder. Gurinder Sandhu and Nathan McAndrew also took two wickets each.

Chasing an easy target of 141 runs, the Thunder lost just three wickets and reached the port of victory in 17.1 overs. Alex Ross played a devastating 61-run unbeaten inning off 45 balls, hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes. Besides, Sam Billings remained unbeaten on 45 off 36 balls. Liam Guthrie took 2 wickets, and Xavier Bartlett took 1 wicket for the Heat.

After winning the match, the Sydney Thunder is in 2nd place in the points table. On the other hand, Brisbane Heat is in 7th place on the point table after losing.

BAN vs PAK (2nd Test – Day 3)

Match referee Niyamur Rashid Rahul has announced the cancellation of the third-day match of the 2nd Test between Bangladesh and Pakistan due to the cyclone Jawad. On the second day, only 6.2 overs were played, and where the visiting Pakistan scored 27 runs on the day without losing a wicket.

However, not a single ball was bowled on the third day due to rain all day. Pakistan has collected 188 runs so far, losing 2 wickets. Babar Azam (71) and Azhar Ali (52) will start the fourth day’s game for Pakistan.

IND vs NZ (2nd Test – Day 4)

The New Zealand cricket team lost five wickets for 140 runs at the end of the third day. They came to the field on the morning of the fourth day with Henry Nicholls (36) and Rachin Ravindra (2) at the crease. But the Kiwi batsmen could not score more than 27 runs in 11.3 overs due to the spin magic of the Indian bowlers.

Nicholls returned with 44 runs and Rachin with 18 runs. In the end, New Zealand’s innings stopped at 167 runs. As a result, India won by a record 372 runs against the Black Caps. Men in Blues have also snapped up the 2-match series 1-0.

In the second innings, Ravichandran Ashwin and Jayant Yadav took the highest number of 4 wickets each for India. Besides, Axar Patel took 1 wicket. However, Mayank Agarwal became the Player of the Match after playing a great inning of 150 in the 1st innings and 62 in the 2nd innings. At the same time, Ravichandran Ashwin has become the Player of the Series.

And with this victory, India has risen to the top of the ICC Test rankings. New Zealand rose to number one after winning the ICC World Test Championship. But now Virat Kohli’s team is at the apex with 124 ratings. On the other hand, New Zealand is now second in the points table with 121 ratings after one Test draw and another losing by a huge margin on the India tour.
