The 13th match of the CPL 2021 between Saint Lucia Kings and Guyana Amazon Warriors, the 14th match of the CPL 2021 between St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and Barbados Royals, and the 1st day’s game of the 4th Test between England and India rolled on the field yesterday and today morning. CPL 2021 Match 13 (Saint Lucia Kings vs Guyana Amazon Warriors)

In the 13th match of CPL, Saint Lucia Kings got a huge victory of 51 runs against Guyana Amazon Warriors. After losing the toss, the Kings were sent to bat first and lost 7 wickets in 20 overs to score 149 runs. Roston Chase scored 85 off 50 balls with 6 fours and 7 sixes and was the highest scorer for the team on the day. Odean Smith and Romario Shepherd took the most number of 3 wickets each for the Warriors.

The Warriors came under pressure from the beginning to chase the target of 150 runs. The Warriors lost 4 wickets to make only 16 runs in 6 overs in the great bowling of the Kings’ bowlers. In the end, Nicholas Pooran (41) and Smith (31) tried but could not reach the port of victory. With 19 balls left, the Warriors got all out for 98 runs. Jeavor Royal took a maximum number of 3 wickets for the Kings.

The Kings are in 5th place in the points table after winning this match and the Warriors are in 4th place after losing.

CPL 2021 Match 14 (St Kitts & Nevis Patriots vs Barbados Royals)

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots won by 2 wickets against the Barbados Royals in the 14th match of the CPL 2021. After losing the toss, the Royals batted first and scored 160 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Samit Patel played the highest-run innings of 54 runs for the team. Johnson Charles scored 30 and Jason Holder 19 runs. Dwayne Bravo took the most number of wickets for the Patriots (4-28, 4 overs). Sheldon Cottrell also took 1 wicket.

Chasing the target of 161 runs, the Patriots lost 1 wicket in 6 overs of Power Play and scored 49 runs. After losing the second wicket while the team total was 84 runs, the team lost 4 more wickets to add only 12 runs to the scoreboard. The Patriots lost 6 wickets to score 96 runs and dropped out of the match but Dominic Drakes (28 off 15 balls) and Cottrell (20 off 7 balls) pulled the team from there. The Patriots finally reached the port of victory, thanks to their great innings.

The Patriots are now top of the points table with their fifth win in a row and the defeated Royals are at the bottom of the points table.

ENG vs IND (4th Test – Day 1)

In the first innings of the fourth Test of the five-match series against England at The Oval, visiting India got bowled out for 191 due to bowling fierce Chris Woakes and Ollie Robinson. After failing to bat well, Kohli’s team lost 3 wickets in 17 overs with the ball in hand.

After losing the toss, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul brought up 28 runs in the opening pair. Woakes started to destroy the innings of India picking up the wicket of ‘Hitman’ Rohit with the gloves of Jonny Bairstow, who scored 11 runs from 27 balls. Then Rahul became the victim of Robinson after scoring 17 runs. James Anderson sent off Cheteshwar Pujara to the dressing room for 4 runs. However, captain Virat Kohli (50) returned to the pavilion with a fifty.

After that India started losing wickets at regular intervals. India’s scoreboard became 7 wickets to score 127 runs from 105 runs for 4 wickets. In the end, the visitors were able to score 191 runs courtesy of a stormy inning of Shardul Thakur, he scored 57 runs playing 36 balls coming down to bat at number seven and he smashed 7 sixes and 3 fours. Chris Woakes took the most number of 4 wickets for England. Ollie Robinson scalped 3 wickets, Craig Overton and James Anderson took 1 wicket each.

In reply, the hosts lost 3 wickets to collect 53 runs in 17 overs. They lost two openers Rory Burns (5) and Haseeb Hameed (0) in 6 runs. Joe Root and Dawid Malan added 46 runs for the third wicket. However, after being bowled by Umesh Yadav, Root (21) returned to the pavilion. Malan (26) and Overton (1) finished the first day’s play remaining unbeaten.
