The 3rd & last T20I between Bangladesh & New Zealand and the 4th day of the 2nd Test between West Indies and Sri Lanka took place yesterday. Let’s have a look to know about the exciting moments of the games.

NZ vs BAN (3rd T20I)

New Zealand won the third and final T20 match of the series in Auckland by 65 runs against Bangladesh. The match was reduced to 10 overs for both sides because of rain before the match’s commencement.

After losing the toss, the Kiwi openers Martin Guptill and Finn Allen started to attack the Bangladesh bowlers while coming down to bat first. Their opening pair scored 85 runs in 5.3 overs. Martin Guptill returned to the pavilion with a stormy inning of 44 off 19 balls with 1 four and 5 sixes. On the other hand, relying on Finn Allen’s devastating innings of 71 off 29 balls with10 fours and 3 sixes, the hosts got a big collection of 141 runs, losing 4 wickets in 10 overs.

Coming down for chasing this huge target, Bangladesh collapsed like a house of cards in the aggressive bowling of the Kiwis. The batsmen were busy coming down and leaving the wicket. With the exception of opener Naim Sheikh’s highest 19 runs, no one else got runs for the team to be described. Todd Astle took the highest number of wickets for the hosts (4-13, 2 overs)

Defeating Bangladesh in this match, New Zealand whitewashes them in the 3-match T20 series. The Tigers will return home on April 4 with the bitter experience of being whitewashed in the ODIs and T20Is.

WI vs SL (2nd Test – Day 4)

Rain reigned on the third day of the second Test between the visiting Sri Lanka and the host West Indies in Antigua. 42 overs were only played on that day. It was the West Indies bowlers who ruled over the Sri Lankan batsmen on a rainy day. And on the fourth day, the West Indies batsmen showed their dominance.

Being behind the hosts by 104 runs at the end of the third day, the visitors started the fourth day with Pathum Nissanka (49*) and Lasith Embuldeniya (0) at the crease. Later, Pathum Nissanka picked up a half-century, and eight runs were added to the team’s scoreboard to get all out.

West Indies started their second innings with a 96-run lead in the first innings. The hosts declared their innings scoring 280 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Caribbean captain Kraigg Brathwaite, who scored a century in the first innings, scored 85 in the second innings. Jason Holder remained unbeaten on 71 off 88 balls. Besides, Kyle Mayers scored 55 runs.

Sri Lanka’s target for triumph is set to 377 runs. The Lankans finished the fourth day putting up 29 runs without losing any wickets. They need 348 more runs on the last day, and the Windies need 10 wickets.
